We did consider the parents when selecting the dates to be voted upon for the reunion. In selecting the dates, we did offer two dates in the summer months, which were June and July. Based upon the response from the survey, more people chose October instead of the other two. The reunion is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The only day that children would have to be taken out of school is that Friday, unless someone chose to leave on Thursday to get to town early. The event for Friday will not begin until that evening, so there is no need to arrive early in the day, unless so desired. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that I have been taken out of school early for special occasions and trips by my parents, and did not suffer from the missed day(s). We have tried really hard to be as fair as possible throughout this process, and have openly asked for people's input and opinions. To try to be as fair as possible, we even conducted the survey for the date twice. At this point, we hope that as many people as possible will be able to attend, but we must proceed with making sure that everything is of the highest caliber for those that are able to attend. We will NEVER be able to obtain one date that will accommodate everyone. I truly hope that people will not get stuck on the date, and just disregard coming all together. If you are not able to come, that is understandable. If you can come, don't miss out an extraordinary time, just because the date might not have been what you desired.
