In Memoriam

Benjamin Smith

Benjamin Smith

BENJAMIN SMITH, I remember where he lived, passed his house daily, sometimes  he would see me passing and come to the road and try to get a conversation with me, most times I didn't want to be bothered, I felt he was a nuisance,  being a little short , round stomach person,  he was what he were, a hell-of-a- nice guy, I'm sure to all of us.   He was one of the first's to pass, but will be missed  because I believe every one of us remembers Benjamin, not Ben, It was always Benjamin to me, using Benjamin instead of Ben made him feel a lot taller and as equal to every one else, never were he ashamed of his statue nor his stance, he was a very pround and gala person. I bet he is bothering the Almighty  with his jokes right now. (smile)  Another good-bye to our Classmate Benjamin Smith,  I remember you and will think of you on our Reunion days.  Farewell.

I remember Benjamin being in and out of class from time to time due to illness. But it made no difference, when he returned - it was as if he was there everyday. He would say some off the wall thing and I wouldbe wondering "what in the world?" Bu that time he would just start laughing. Jokester to the heart!! He never let on that his illnees bothered him. He did however remind you that his name was not Ben.
