Marcia "Marcy" McVay Cates

I lived in Artesia NM for about 10 years with my first husband, Bill Siegenthaler, where my daughter was born. We ran a family farm for a few years. Bill was Dean of Students and I was a Botany lab instructor at a small liberal arts college there. Actually loved small town living.

I took a break as a Dental Hygienist during the 80's and opened two children's boutiques. Fun, but then came Kmart. I am living in Albuquerque and my husband and I own a second home in Northern NM. We like to go fishing when we go North. Something a lot of people don't know is that Karla Irwin Cates is my sister-in-law. We are married to brothers and vacation together every year or two. I am not a grandma but cherish my nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

I retired as a Dental Hygienist in 2002 with a disability related to my work. In recent years I have had my 15 minutes of fame (although I can hardly call it fame) as a print ad model and actress in a commercial for the Albuquerque Biopark which ran for about two years during primetime TV. Demand for aging white haired overweight actresses is very limited but it was fun at the time.

I recently vacationed in Portland OR where Dixee Partee lives with another Chi Omega sorority sister. We had a great time along the coast and in the Portland area.
