Alan Robert Assur, 62, of Stafford County peacefully left the Earth on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Thomas Assur. He is survived by his mother, Roberta Alice Assur; two sons, Adam Izaak Assur (wife Aimee) and Joshua Alden Assur; three grandchildren; and two brothers, Eric Thomas Assur (wife Georgene) and Mark Andrew Assur (wife Christine).
Alan was an active member of Eagles Aerie 4123 and Izaak Walton League of America, and a life member of the NRA. Alan loved his family, firearms, hunting, fishing and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He worked for 30 years at Northern Virginia Community College, retiring in 2001 as Woodbridge campus grounds supervisor.
