Kevin was genuine, gentle and kind. He was intellectually intense. I still can't believe it. Some of the most artistic, honest, enjoyable times of my life were due, in large part, to our friendship. I was with Kevin at his first Dead show. I helped talk his folks into letting us go. As soon as they said ok, we ran through the front door and jumped in the back of Jim Summer's truck with Neil and Tommy...it took less than 60 seconds for us to get gone! The bus came by and we got on, that's when it all began...
Kevin spent the last 17 years or so deeply involved in music and social causes in Carbondale, IL. Much of the musical community celebrated Kev's life and influence last Sunday.
What can I say - he was family and I loved him deeply. His sister, Traci, lives in Northern Cal. wine country. She, too, is one of the kindest people I have ever met. RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
