Nancy Denise Woodard Teruya

Started working at SSA, Married Thomas Behlke, jr after high school, shortly after separating, I moved to Ohio where I went back to work for the US Govt. Signed up to go in the Air Force and moved to Florida...worked odd jobs and then changed to US Navy, studied to be an Electronics Technician and worked on Cryptographic communication gear. First duty station was Yokosuka, Japan. Got married in Japan moved to next duty station in Wahiawa and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Got stationed back in Yokosuka Ship Repair Facility, Japan. Next duty was Miramar Air Station in San Diego, CA and last was USS Dixon at Point Loma then Retired after 20 years in San Diego, CA. I started working at the US Postal Service soon after retiring where I worked as an Electronic Technician on the mail processing machines. I was promoted to a supervisor in Maintenance August, 2013 and put in just 3 mos. shy of 25 years in Civil Service and retired on June 30, 2017.

After graduation from AHS, went to Anne Arundel Community College and Federal City College. Enlisted in US Navy and was schooled in advanced electronic communication equipment, continued on to training for Cryptographic transmitters and receivers. In my different duty stations, I continued taking classes at University of Maryland extension schools on base as well as University of Hawaii and with these added to my Navy schools and work experience, received an AS in Electronics from Gavilan College.
