After high school I went to school for the ministry for a while finally ending up in Canada for a couple years. After leaving school I joined the Army and was injured during basic making my military career very short. After that I settled in Lexington and started my own home inspection business which is what I have been doing ever since. I have even had the opportunity to inspect houses for several of our classmates over the years. Presently I have been appointed by both Gov. Fletcher and this year by Gov. Breshear to the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors. Last year I served as Chairman of the Board and presently serve as a member at large as we continue to regulate the profession statewide.

In 1999 I met Tara Scott from Pike County at church and ended up marrying her in 2000 with my best man being Larry Lewis and Groomsmen being Mike Duley and Charles Waters. The ceremony was performed by French Harmon.

In 2003 we moved from Lexington to Owingsville and our son Gabriel Thomas was born in October. Last year I lost my older brother Tim to esophageal cancer, it was a terrible experience. Then in May after having a cyst removed from behind my left ear, discovered that it had become cancerous and I had to undergo chemo and radiation treatment. Good news is that as of my last check-up in July 09 I am cancer free but it made it a tough year for me and my family especially my mother and wife.
