Wendy worked for CAML radio in the south bay, winning a Mercedes for her outstanding sales.  She married Michael Lavender and moved with him to Lancaster, England. where they lived happily until her death in or around 1985. She died of cancer and she did not go willingly. I visited her shortly before her death; I traveled with my daughters who were then 15 and 12, to say goodbye to my oldest, dearest friend from kindergarten. We stayed at her house in Straffordshire, a beautiful renovated Tudor home, and her friends hosted a lovely tea for her, so sad now. I really miss, Wendy, who had the best sense of humor of anyone I've known.

Ann Fehring has a great story to tell about Wendy and Amway.

I remember her wonderful sense of humour and her unnerving drive to get to the bottom of a conversation and the likely meaning of  casual comments and always reminding us of the importance to have a conversation. She was intelligent, charming and curious. I remember Wendy asking me if it really mattered if anyone cared or did I even care that others mattered. I'm still thinking about my response but it is probably - yes.
