MARION < Ronald L. Zalone II, 49, formerly of Auburn, died Tuesday, July 7, 2008. Ron died at his home in Marion, surrounded by his loving wife, children and family. Ron was born in Auburn on Nov. 25, 1958. He was the son of the late Ronald L. Zalone and MaryAnn Berry Zalone of Auburn. He was a member of the graduating class of 1976 of Auburn High School. He received his associate"s degree from SUNY Morrisville and his bachelor"s from Southern Illinois University. As a teacher he was employed as a special education automotive instructor. Mr. Zalone had previously been employed with the Department of Defense school systems in Italy and Germany. He loved snowmobiling, and was known for teasing and joking around with family and friends. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Michelle Delaney Zalone; his daughter, Cynthia Marie; two sons, Ronald L. III, and Mark Anthony Zalone; his mother, Mary Ann Zalone, of Auburn; a sister, Margery (Joseph) Gagliostro, of Auburn; two brothers (twins), Michael A. (Camille) Zalone, of Salamanca, and Patrick (Blanche) Zalone, of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and a grand niece. Ron is also survived by his in-laws, Donald and Mary Jane Delaney, of Auburn, Patricia (Stephen) Shores, of Massachusetts, Catherine (Dean) Malatin, of Syracuse, and Donald Delaney, of Auburn. Mr. Zalone was predeceased by his father, Ronald L. Zalone on Sept. 28, 2000. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, in St. Mary"s Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn.
