Vicki Holmes (Shayler) - Class Of 1972

AUBURN | Vicki P. Holmes, 59, of S. Fulton Street, Auburn, passed away very peacefully in the company of her devoted family, at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Millard Fillmore Hospital, in Williamsville. Vicki was born Dec. 29, 1952, in Auburn. She was the daughter of the late, Victor and Elaine O'Brien Holmes. She had been employed in the office of John Wejko Construction. Vicki will be remembered as a loving and caring person, who was one of the best friends anyone could have. She had a deep devotion to animals and cared for hers with deep kindness and affection. Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Shayler, whom she married June 22, of this year; her brother, David Holmes, of Painted Post; her mother-in-law, Anne Shayler, of Auburn and many cousins and good friends. “She was fortunate to have a caring family, both her own and the Shayler family, that she gained this year with her marriage to Tom.� A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. “Vicki will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to have had the chance to know her and she will be remembered for her culinary skills and infectious laugh.� In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fingerlakes SPCA of CNY, 41 York St., Auburn, NY 13021.
