AUBURN < Stanley J. (Stosh) Sofinski, 54, of Auburn, died Wednesdays, Oct. 17, 2007, of a sudden illness at his home. Known to his family friends at "Stosh," he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Helen (Janas) Sofinski. Born in and a lifelong resident of Auburn, Stosh was a graduate of Central High School. He was a member of the Laborer"s Union Local 103 and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 1324. Stosh was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, a woodworker with a talent for woodcarving, and a friend who always had a quick joke for all. Surviving are his siblings: Mary Ellen Sofinski (Bob Burnett), Theresa A. Sofinski, Joseph M. Sofinski, Paul E. Sofinski; nephew, Paul W. Sofinski; maternal aunts, Lottie Spoto and Stella Kott; paternal uncle, Michael Sofinski; several cousins and kind-hearted friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Nicpon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eugene Dobosz officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery.
