Michael Leonti - Class Of 1973

AUBURN | Michael J. Leonti, 55, of Townhall Road, Auburn, went to be with his Lord in heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, with his loving family by his side. Mike was born in Rochester on July 20, 1957. He was the son of Grace C. (Sherman) Leonti and the late Joseph C. Leonti, who predeceased him in 2008. He was a 1975 graduate of Auburn High School and graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1981. Mike was a retired pharmacist, he was employed in the Auburn area. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mike enjoyed martial arts, fishing, hunting, biking and motorcycling. In addition to his mother Grace, he is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Bekkenhuis Leonti, with whom he would have celebrated his 27th wedding anniversary on Oct. 26; his beloved daughters, Carolynn Grace Leonti and Karynn Elizabeth Leonti; his cherished granddaughter, Emma Kathryn Leonti; his brother, Thomas A. Leonti, of Canandaiqua; his sisters-in-law, Brenda (Eric) Cicenia and Barbara (Bill) Gaffney; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike is also survived by many relatives and friends, and his special friends, Tom Callahan and the Montgomery family. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be at Soule Cemetery, Sennett. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael J. Leonti may be made to Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY, 41 York St., Auburn, or a charity of one's choice .
