Connie Byrne (Geherin) - Class Of 1972 VIEW PROFILE

AUBURN < Constance (Connie) Byrne Geherin, 52 of South Hunter Ave. (Pleasance) died at her home Sunday, June 24 2007. Connie was born and raised in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School in 1972 and in 1979 from Cayuga Community College with her RN degree. Connie worked at Auburn Memorial Hospital for many years on the Orthopedic Unit followed by a long stint in the Operating Room. For the past decade, she has been employed at Cayuga County Health Department as a Visiting Nurse. Connie was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2007 and had continued to work during her radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Her constant unflagging optimism was an inspiration to all those who knew her. Connie is survived by her husband < the love of her life, Thomas (Lumpy), and on Tuesday, June 21, 2007, celebrated the 30th anniversary of their first date with a stay at Geneva on The Lake. She is also survived by her father, Edward Byrne and his wife Winnie of Lexington, Ky.; her brothers, Chris of Auburn, and Eddie of Denver; sister and best friend, Carol and her husband John Cambareri of Auburn; her in-laws, Jack and Gloria Geherin; her "favorite aunt," Joan Schafer, along with many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews too numerous to list; and many friends. Connie was predeceased by her brother, Kevin Byrne, 3 weeks ago; and her mother, Patricia in 1980. Family and friends are invited to meet with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, in the Sacred Heart Community Room followed by a memorial service at 11:15 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Connie to Cayuga Community College Nursing Foundation. 197 Franklin St., Auburn, NY 13021 Connie was a true inspiration and will be sadly missed by her family. sad for her family to have lost her so soon. she was so pretty and nice and good when i (71)knew her in school, and later. i grew up on curtis place so did probably play at lincoln with her and the others around there, Anne s. Diane s. Karen t.  David and Brent, marcons, Chrissy L. Marcia s . loved her and miss her.
