Henry Montgomery, (Jr. ) - Class Of 1974

 

AUBURN | Henry D. ""Sparky"" Montgomery Jr. 56, of Standart Woods Apartments, Auburn, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home.

Born in New York City on Sept. 25, 1955, ""Sparky"" was the son of the late Henry ""Bucky"" Montgomery, and Helen Sweeney Montgomery of Auburn. He was a member of the Class of 1974 of Auburn High School. He was employed for more than 35 years by Auburn Correctional Facility, working in the power house. He also owned and operated Auburn Coil Cleaning.

""Sparky"" was a life member of the Utopia Club, a member of the Swietoniowski & Kopeczek Post 1324 of the American Legion. A communicant of Holy Family Church, he enjoyed golfing, boating, sports, and was very fond of NASCAR.

""Sparky"" is survived by his mother, Helen Montgomery, of Auburn; three brothers, Stephen Montgomery and his wife, JoAnn, John Montgomery and his wife, Marie, Patrick Montgomery with Deborah Mead; his niece and nephews, Erich, Sean, Alex, Patrick, and Stephanie Montgomery.

Predeceasing ""Sparky"" was his father Henry D. Montgomery on Nov. 24, 2008.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Henry D. Montgomery Jr. may be made to Matthew House of Auburn or the charity of one's choice .
