Donald Lawler - Class Of 1979

AUBURN - Donald G. Lawler, 50, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011. Affectionately known as Donnie, he was born in Auburn on Oct. 6, 1961, the son of Don and Joanne Worden Lawler. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a graduate of Sacred Heart Parochial School, Auburn High School with the Class of 1979, and Cayuga Community College. Extremely fond of books and music, he was employed for many years at Walden Book Store, Fingerlakes Mall, and had also managed a Music Store at the mall. More recently he was employed by Welch Allyn. He loved doing professional photography for weddings and special occasions. He gave often and tirelessly of his time and photographic talent to benefits and fundraisers. He is survived by his mother and father, Joanne and Don Lawler, Auburn; a brother, Tom Lawler, Waipahu, Hawaii; sisters, Marie (Allen) Lutins, Johnson City, and Patricia (Chris) Sciria, Auburn; and the lights of his life, his two nieces, Kaeleigh and Maggie Sciria; aunts and uncles, Jack (Irene) Worden, Rochester, Helen Worden, Syracuse, Linda and Denny Bergenstock, Auburn, Richard (Millie) Lawler, Utica, Jean Lawler, Florida. He was predeceased by his uncles, Thomas Lawler and Joseph Worden; and grandparents, Thomas and Helena Burns Lawler and John and Florence Connors Worden. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, in Sacred Heart Church, Auburn. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph's Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Road, Auburn. Those wishing to commemorate his thoughtful life may remember him at St. Joseph's School, the Alzheimer's Association or the American Diabetes Association .
