Albert Pearce - Class Of 1971

AUBURN | Albert D. Pearce, of Murray Street, Auburn, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

A life resident of Auburn, he was born Dec. 2, 1953 to the late Herbert E. Pearce and Marjorie Pearce Rowoth. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1971 and from Cayuga County Community College nursing class of 1976. Al earned his B.S. in nursing from the University of the State of New York. Before retirement, he was employed for 30 years at Nucor Steel as an occupational health nurse. He was an active member of the Occupational Health Nurse’s Association of Central New York.

A most devoted husband and father, Al was actively involved in his sons’ sports activities during their lives. He particularly took much joy in serving as umpire in the Auburn Boys and Girls Baseball League for several years. Al was known for his kind and gentle spirit and unwavering willingness to help others in need.
