Michael Poresky - Class Of 1971

SILVER SPRINGS, Md. | Michael D. Poresky, 59, formerly of Auburn, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Washington, D.C. Michael was born in Syracuse, on July 1, 1953. The son of the late Arnold Poresky, and Pauline Tusa Poresky, of Auburn, he was a graduate of Auburn High School and attended Auburn Community College. During his lifetime, Michael had an interest in studying martial arts. He was a third degree black belt in Aikido, a senior student of Clyde Takeguchi Shihan, of Capital Aikikai in Silver Spring, Md., where he also was an instructor. He was employed as a Director of Services with AFA Protective Services. In recent years, Michael was a resident of Silver Springs, Md., where he is survived by his wife, Iryna Poresky; his two sons, Max and Michael; a sister, Karen Danello and her husband, Mark, of Atlanta; two brothers, Bob Poresky and his wife, Lauren, of Jamesville, and Paul Poresky and his wife, Terrie, of Auburn, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held privately for family and close friends at White Chapel Funeral Home. Following services, burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. A benefit is being organized to help Michael's wife Iryna, Max and young son, Michael.
