Thomas Socci - Class Of 1976

 

Fairport: Died at the age of 52 after courageously battling cancer. He was surrounded by love when he peacefully passed away on April 17, 2011. 

Born and raised in Auburn, Tom earned a mechanical engineering degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. He spent nearly 20 years at Schlegel Systems, Inc., where he earned two patents. He worked at Webster Plastics, Inc., for six years as a project manager.

Tom was dedicated to volunteering and helping young athletes. He coached Fairport Little League and CYO Basketball. He was also president of the Fairport High School Baseball Booster Club and a past executive board member of the Fairport Little League.

Tom was an avid hunter and a classic car enthusiast.

A devoted husband and father, Tom leaves behind his wife of nearly 25 years, Marnie (Dates); three children, Stephanie, Thomas Jr., and Matthew; mother I. ElisabethSocci; brothers, Ted and Eric Socci; mother-in-law, Mary Dates; sisters-in-law, Nancy Tourville, Susan Dates (Dennis Grover); brother-in-law, Jim Dates (Shelly); nephew, David Tourville (Krissy); nieces, Kristen Tourville, Erinn Grover, Ella and Claire Dates; great-nephew, Ethan Tourville; and countless wonderful friends.

Calling hours Monday, April 25th 4-8 p.m., at RICHARD H. KEENAN FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd., Fairport (Egypt location). Family and friends will celebrate Tom's life on Tuesday, April 26th at 11:15 a.m. at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Avenue, Fairport. The family thanks Dr. Eva Galka, for her kindness and compassion.
