Still working full time working for a care home group, helping families seeking residential, nursing or dementia care for their loved ones - just completed 14 very rewarding years after a retail banking career with BNZ, Trust Bank, Westpac and HSBC.
Living in Marlow, Buckinghamshire with my darling wife Val - met in 2009 and married 2019 - I know, I always was a bit slow.
Love the access to live sport which is why I ended up in this part of the world, visiting for 2007 RWC. Go to The Open Golf each year and anything else I can get to. Went to Twickenham for the All Blacks demise on Friday, the Oval and Lords at the weekend for The Hundred cricket finals - fantastic competition. Off to the Ryder Cup in Rome next month with a stop on the way in Lyon to see Australia v Wales. Managed tickets to the quarter-finals in Marseilles - other side of the draw to the ABs - probably just as well!
Can’t retire or I couldn’t follow my love of sport - owned a leaky home in Remuera till 2007 and came out with $13k - valued a year earlier at $900k - c’est la vie. Always look on the bright side of life and as a mate of mine says…….live every day as if it’s your last, cos one day you’ll be right.

School Story

Fond memories but school was not my favourite pastime. Couldn’t wait to start work and by-pass university. Enjoyed the sport of course!

Favorite Master

Herbie Towers and Dad Weir - got the cane from both (repeatedly!)

Hi and happy birthday BeeGee. I got to see Wales thrash Australia on my way to the Ryder Cup. I’ve got tickets to the two Marseille Quarter Finals and just waiting to see if I get one for the ABs v Ireland match in Paris then I’ll have a decision to make! All the best, Ray

Happy birthday (twin) Bernie. Hope you’ve had a great 74th. Val took me into London to a Faulty Towers lunch - brilliant! Just watched Fiji beat Australia. I’ll be at the Australia v Wales match in Lyon next Sunday. After today’s result that should be a cracker. All the best, Ray

Wishing you a happy birthday from the U.K. Tim. I share mine with Bernie Allen in 10 days time. Anxiously awaiting the All Blacks opening match against France tomorrow evening. I’m going to a few matches but have to sell my AB v Italy ticket as I’ll be in Rome for the Ryder Cup. All the best, Ray

Hi Graeme - while I’m on the site and in case I forget, wishing you a great birthday on the 3rd - guess that’s 74. My daughter who now lives in Melbourne is heading over to the U.K. for my 75th next year - wants me to take her to the Octoberfest! Your ‘then’ photo seems like yesterday! All the best, Ray

Hope you had a great birthday Jim and trust you’re keeping well. I always wanted to get to Canada but closest I’ve been was Vancouver Airport transit! I’ve been living in England since coming over for the Rugby World Cup in 2007. Off to France for a few matches next month but after going to Twickenham on Friday for the All Black biggest ever loss, I fear another 2007 quarter final exit. All the best, Ray
PS Big one next year like me?
