Larry Carter VIEW PROFILE

On May 23, 1956 in Austin, Texas, a wonderful event occurred in the life of Leroy and Lourine Shelton-Carter, they welcomed a handsome baby boy, Larry Carter.  Larry professed his hope in Christ at an early age and was a long time member of the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Austin, Texas.  Larry attended public schools in Austin and graduated from J. H. Reagan High School in 1975. In addition to his academic achievements.  Larry excelled in baseball, football, basketball and track.  Larry played on an array of baseball teams, including the Mount Sinai Church Co-ed baseball team, which he was known for hitting the ball out of the park.  Larry worked throughout Austin and the surrounding areas with several companies such as: The State of Texas (TWC), City of Austin, Travis County and Capital Metro. Larry was currently employed at Country Boyz Fixing.  Larry oved to cook but was known for his "golden brown" BBQ. Larry has cooked for various restaurants and non-profit organizations such as the Capital City Bearcats (football league).  Larry was doing what he loved best when he fell ill COOKING!! On Saturday evening, November 24, 2013 God called Larry to eternal rest, where he found peace that surpasses all understanding and ceased the suffering of this world. He will be missed in body but leaves behind a legend of "flavorful finger licking memories", a heart of gold, lots of laughs and love. Preceding him in death were his parents, Leroy and Lourine Carter, one sister Brenda J. carter and brother Willie J. Terrell. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving daughters, Van Fletcher-Carter, Kia Carter; one sister Bessie Ray (Cookie); one brother, Roy Gene; one nephew Charles Ray III; several grandkids, Quezze, Brenden, DeAsia, Braylen, Breyah, JaQuan and Harry "Trae", all of Austin.  Larry leaves 3 step daughters in whom he helped raise, Keva Roundtree-Williams, Kristi Williams and Katrina Roundtree; a host of relatives and friends. Services entrusted to A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
