Ayden-Grifton High School
Class Of 1979

So close ... yet so far away

In French, you don't say, "I miss you."  You say "tu me manques" which means "you are missing from me."  I love that.

Sadly, yesterday, I stumbled across the obituary for Barbara Wright (Gatten) who attended school with us for a few years.  Her obituary is in her profile. Barbara was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last November. There was nothing that could be done because of the location and type of cancer. She was left unable to communicate after the biopsy.  She died in late December.  I had no idea that Barbara died.  I chatted with her sister.  I conveyed the condolences of the AG Class of '79 with her sister to pass along to her family.

Sometimes the most beautiful thing is precisely the one that comes unexpectedly and unearned, hence something given truly as a present.
