I have a funny memory about Chris. Entering his obituary reminded me that his grandpa was my family's neighbor. Out the back of our house, there is a big hill, with pine trees in the valley, bordered on one side by Chris' grandpa's place. My dad had a salt lick set up for deer in a clearing, visible from the house.

Someone was looking down over the hill, and noticed two kids in camo (Chris and John Young). "Dad! They just stole our salt lick!" My dad ran outside to yell at them. They were totally busted. Suddenly, the salt lick bounced out of the pines, into the clearing, and the two camo-clad boys started running. So much for stealth!
