Kathy Barron Jackson '67

I married my high school sweetheart in 1970. Jimmy and I moved to Vidalia, Ga. in 1973. I graduated from Georgia Southern University. I retired from teaching in 2005. Jimmy continues to work for the Southern Company at the Nuclear Plant in Baxley, Ga. We have one grandson, Chase. We spend time visiting our "girls" in Greenville, S.C. and Richmond, Va. Several girls from the class of 1967 continue to get together every year. We have been blessed with a long special friendship.

I have many wonderful memories of growing up in the Glades and especially BGHS. How fortunate we were to have so many special teachers and memories after all these years. I remember being "terrorized " by Vida Hardee, my Math teacher. Having a terrible crush on Coach Thornton and
Mr. Whitehead. Decorating floats in airplane hanger, "snake dance" down the middle of town, bonfires and dances in the cafeteria after football games! I still have life long friends from this small town and am blessed to have been raised there.
