Wesley Doidge's mom confirmed that Wes has passed on. Wes and I were in the same basic training unit at Fort Ord, CA. June of 1961. Within 30 days the Berlin Wall crisis broke out. I had not been serious about weapon cleaning, gun sight method, and hand to hand combat training. All of a sudden, life was serious, Wes brought me up to speed on things I had tuned out. Also the same unit had Hogie Carmichael's son. I remember a limo picking up Carmichael to go home as I hitch hiked up the coast back to San Carlos. I first learned of Wes passing on this website August of 2011.
