Mike Nolan and I were friends from kindergarten as we both lived on Rosewood Ave. and went to Central school and on to Carlmont. I am sorry to learn of his passing and remember the good times spent when we were kids.
I remeber Mike from Central School and Boy Scouts. His Dad worked for Greyhound and knew my Dad as well. Mike was a good guy we had a lot of fun camping and hiking with the Scouts.
Mike passed away prior to his 30th birthday in 1973. We knew each other growing up in the same immediate neighborhood. I lived on Elm St. And he lived a block away on Rosewood. We knew each other from Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Central School, Tierra Linda, Carlmont and CSM. We kept in touch during the years after Carlmont. He attended my wedding and was always a good friend after work to meet for a beer or two. On one memorable Halloween, my wife and I were taking our two boys trick or treating from my parents house, that we were renting at the time. We happened to be carrying nearly empty glasses of wine. Well, Mike not only gave our boys the obligatory candy, he filled our glasses of wine, it was definitely a memorable trick or treating evening. Mike passed away doing what he loved the most, hunting. One on my most favorite friends and I truly miss him to this day.
