After college, I worked for a large wine distributor before I moved to Colorado in 1980. We remained there until Jim retired from Frito-Lay in 1998.
At that point we moved to northern Minnesota to get away from the hustle and bustle of the "big city". We lived in a small town about 120 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. Jim went back to work and retired again in 2006. During the spring of 2008 we decided to sell our home in Minnesota and relocate (again) to Florida. We decided we just didn't want to spend any more winters in the snow belt. The temperatures in northern Minnesota in January and February are FRIGID !! It took us until February 2009 to sell our home. I retired at the end of February and we moved to our new home here in Punta Gorda, FL. Punta Gorda is about 25 miles north of Ft Myers and about 50 miles south of Sarasota/Bradenton. This is the best job I've had since I got out of college.
My brother still lives in the area and owns the Cleveland Lumberjacks Hockey team so I do make the trip back to the area every few years. |

My best memory as a senior was during my civics class. I sat at the back of the room next to Milt Jackson. One day during class we were chatting instead of listening to Mr. Minich. Imagine our surprise when he threw a book at us and it landed on the floor between us !! It got our attention and needless to say, we stopped gabbing.
Another fond memory is of a certain funeral procession just prior to graduation !! |
