We had lots of good times together!  Bill had lots of artistic talent.  He was Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie.  He designed the Midpark crest on our rings.  We had a good time in chemistry even though he struggled.  He introduced me to Chris Gladis (who was in our chemistry class).  I miss him and wish he could be with us at the reunion!

Little known to most was that Bill and I were the ones who erected the scaffolding for the effigy hanging of the school board just days before graduation.  It was his idea and he came to me to help since he knew I could keep my mouth shut.  It was brilliant!  He was a quiet guy.  When he passed away, he was a member of my brother-in-law's church.  They knew him as a quiet guy and were surprised to find out that I knew him.  He was a great "Conrad" and surprised the entire school with the black duck tail hair.  I have nothing but respect for guys like Bill.

Bill Tabbert was the coolest! I got to know him a bit when we were both in BYE BYE BIRDIE and we hung out for awhile. He was a good dancer too, as we all saw with his Conrad Birdie moves. I thought his style was so cool I bought the same brown shoes he bought at Florsheim at Southland so I could try to emulate that Bill Tabbert style. I failed. He was unique.
