Michael Blevins

I went to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville before enlisting in the Air Force for four years. We ended up in Spokane, WA and made our home here. We visit family and friends at least once a year and someday would like to return to Big Stone Gap. It gets more difficult though as the years go by and children and grandchildren are accustomed to a large city and wouldn't want to consider moving to a small town. As parents and grandparents, we can't imagine being 3,000 miles away from any of them! Time will tell what happens.

Started school after graduation at the University of Virginia's Aerospace Engineering Program in Charlottesville. Studied there for 3 years before joining the Air Force. Spent 1 year on temporary duty assignments on Guam. Completed a four year tour of duty, 3 of those years at Fairchild AFB, WA.
