Stanley passed on Monday, February, 27, 2000 in Bessemer Alabama. He is buried at Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer Alabama.

He was the son of Callie Brand and  Pearl Cotheran who were marrried in approximately 1900, seven (7) children were born; Pollard, Ina, Jacob (Carthan), Walter Lew, Bennis, Stanley and Barthelmus.

Stanley was born in Perry Co (Marion AL) in 1917. The family moved to Bessemer Alabama at 1803-7th Ave in approximately 1919, where Callie worked in the Coal Mine. 

Stanley was married to Iphenia Shearer in 1933 and five children were born;  Naomi, Stanley Jr, Prentice, Eddie Pearl and Allen MacArthur.
