MELVIN "BREECE" SYKES, SR., age 78, of Roosevelt City, AL, made his transition on October 10, 2011. He retired from the VA Hospital. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Love Joyce Sykes. Left to cherish his memories are: daughter, Valerie Sykes - Riles; sons, Melvin Sykes, Jr., Marvin (Cheryl) Sykes; brothers, Willie J. (China) Sykes, Curtis (Sallie) Sykes; host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Roosevelt City Friday, October 14 at 12:00 Noon with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
