How great was it to have the privilege to grow up in a place like Birmingham, MI?

I'd like to thank everyone for coming to the reunion and making it a night to remember. We had a great turnout with well over 200 people attending. It was wonderful catching up with old friends and meeting spouses. I'd like to thank Jason Glime and Kevin Royer for all their hard work putting this together. I'd also like to thank Paul Peters for his work on the video presentation.

It's true that we have a wonderfully successful class filled with super friendly and may I add, very attractive people. I think the reunion was a great event. I saw people who maybe only knew of each other in school and were not friends becoming fast friends at this weekend's events. It amazes me what loyal, true people our Maple Leaves are. There was a palpable feeling of connection and loyalty felt at the reunion.

Is it that we were in a room with people who have known us anywhere from 24-34 years plus? Is it that these people are cut from the same cloth that's woven with mutual friends, teachers, little league teams, girl scout troops and hometown pride? Do we feel such a connection because as we age our common Birmingham memories give us something wonderful to hold on to in an expanding world?  Maybe a little of everything. I do know that all middle/high school groups, cliques and social stereotypes were 100% gone from last night's party. The slight feeling that may have been there at the 10 year was absent. I hope the people who did not or could not attend reach out to others through this and other websites.

Thanks to all for making it a great night and check back for the 2009 video and all the pictures from the four events.

Demi
