I lived down the street from John. We had a few great times together! He had a brilliant mind and was funny and with a style all his own. I wish it didn't happen that he left us.

Student death sorrows all friends
The holiday spirit for many was spoiled by the loss of a fellow student. Senior John Kaipio was fatally injured in an auto accident in the Bahamas. He was moved to a hospital in Miami where he died of his injuries.
Kaipio attended Barnum Junior High before coming to Groves. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
