Bounced around restaurant jobs out of high school. Went to college at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the late 80's. Went to California for a year, came back to Ohio and worked for a sign shop in New Middletown for a few years. Landed a job at Time Warner Cable and was there for a total of about 12 years. Time Warner downsized and in the span of 12 months I lost my job, got married and we had our first child. After about 10 months I got my job at Progressive Insurance, have been here 13+ years and have lived up in the Willoughby area for about the last 10 years.
On 5/23/2013 I suffered an ischemic stroke. That is the type that associates with a blood clot and deprives brain tissue of oxygen. At first, my left side was mobile but completely numb. My speech was stuttered. I have gained 90% of my fluency in my speech and most of the numbness has gone away. The tips of the fingers on my left hand tingle and both my feet feel like I am wearing socks when I am not.... I guess God wasn't done with me yet......
