| School Story: | I remember so little - was I even there?? Though Open Lunch WAS the best thing that ever happened to me, I remember that. That and my mom letting me spend summers in Ocean City starting when I was 15. Crazy lady - she was the best. I remember one last-day-of-school, Doug Rounsevelle walking out the door and tossing all his books -papers, everything - in the air, and not even looking back. I thought that was perhaps the coolest thing I'd ever seen. THAT'S how free I wanted to be when I grew up. Oh! And a Spanish Club trip to Colombia in senior year -my first airplane ride, first taste of tropical, oh man - and me and Fran Baldini staying out all night on the beach with guys we'd met and then nearly missing the plane back. Principal whoever (Hagan??) calling my mom to say she needed to come in and "discuss it" and my mom saying "My daughter is a good girl and unless there's more to the story than she's already told me, I won't be coming in..." Go mom. You rock. |
