Derrick was so crazy and fun! he was truly a jokster! I remember the day he passed and it was just heartbreaking. Derrick lived across the street from me and we practically grew up together.. He was always ready to do whatever and just live life. Unfortunately, he died at his home with unclear circumstances while I was away in college. I just remember being in total shock! Many of our classmates attended the services. The memories of his bubbly personality is something we will never forget.
Derick Scriber many don't know was a great friend of mine early in my life. We went to Accokeek Elementary School together during a time even then when black and white students being friends remained difficult. Accokeek had it's own issues regarding race back then but Derick and I had some grad moments laughing back and forth. I never saw skin color with my friend Derick and it is sad to hear that we have lost him. RIP Old Friend....
Rick, He was one of my very best friends. Not to many people knew Rick the way I did. Most people only knew the silly jokster. Rick was very honest and caring and would do anything that he could for his friends. WE had alot of heart to heart talks that only the best of friends could have. He wouldnt let mo0st people get to know that side of him. I loved Rick like a brother and not a day goes by that I dont stop what Im doing and think about him. Words cant describe how much I miss him and thank God I was Lucky enough to have him as a friend. Rick touched alot of people with just his laugh and his contagious smile. Rest In Peace my friend, We'll meet again soon!
