Melodie Gerhards Parker passed away January 30, 2003

Melodie Gerhards Parker, 46, of Bremerton died Jan. 30, 2003, in Bremerton.

She was born Feb. 3, 1956, in Bremerton to Richard and Carol (Moore) Gerhards. She graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1974.

She married Martin E. Parker on Nov. 18, 1995, in Bremerton.

Mrs. Parker worked as a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed reading, gardening and volunteering much of her time to the community.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, now of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Danya Gerhards of Bremerton; a stepdaughter, Tanya Parker of Bremerton; two brothers, Matt and Alex Gerhards, both of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Lorie Burns of Bremerton and Michelle McNaught of Port Orchard; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, all living in Bremerton and Iowa.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton. An online memorial can be seen at www.lewischapel.com.
