Served a mission in Norway for two years. Attended school at OSU-Muskogee for several years, studying graphic design. Loved it, but after helping run a designer awards (and T-shirt) shop, I couldn't see a career in it. Worked as a dispatcher for Tulsa PD. Met PJ and didn't see much point in waiting, so we got married pretty quickly. Tried my hand at several different opportunities, including insurance and a national carpet cleaning chain. Eventually moved to Russellville, Arkansas, where I drove a trash truck until I could get residence status and start school.
With three girls, and then four, I finished my last three years as a full-time undergrad while working full time running a grinder in a camshaft manufacturing plant. Decided I liked the poverty thing, so I moved the family to Fayetteville and worked my way through law school. Three years and a grueling bar exam later, I gave up the life of ease, moved the family back to Russellville, and opened the Eastman Law Office.
I took up smoking as a hobby. (Y'know, ribs, brisket, sausages, peppers... that kind of thing.)
