According to my sources there are 25,000 teachers being laid off in IL. The lack of state funding is also affecting support staff--and families throughout the state. Personally, I have been notified by certified mail, regular mail and in person of an hours reduction for my services next year. There is talk of 4-day school weeks.

I see a great opportunity for opening private schools and/or preschools. The private school laws are very accommodating in Illinois as long as there is no gov. funding. Well...

The problem with that is...
Most of the families that are affected by cuts in the public sector can't afford private education. So...unless there is a very rich altruistic person or group out there willing to provide education for our children...I don't know the unless.
