I was in shock when Rachel told me the news about Arthur...she did also tell me that she spoke to Arthur's parents and his mom told her how much he loved NCC and how fond his memories were of the years he spent there. We should definately make sure that this reunion is extra special, even though he cannot be there with us in person, he'll be there in spirit so let's show him a GREAT time and dedicate the Class of 1988 reunion to him.

I feel so bad. Does anyone know what happened to him?
His poor family.

Rachel actually contacted his family and she spoke to his mom, I am sure she will be posting something about their conversation.. I DO know that she told his mom that we would dedicate the reunion to him and to something in his honor to remember him.

Ok, here is a brief summary of my conversation with Arthur's parents. The only number I had for him on the list NCC gave to me was a Cambridge number, with a New Hampshire address. So, as Laura calls it, I pulled a little NCC - CSI and did an itnernet search for him. That's how I found his obituary. I was very reluctant to contact his parents, not wanting to dredge up painful memories. However, when I spoke to his mom and I told her who I was, she was very gracious and pleased that we contacted them about Arthur. Arthur was married at the time he passed with two small children...18 months and 6 months. He lived in Kingston, NH. He passed away from cancer. When the finally diagnosed him, it was stage 3 and there was nothing they could do for him. I also spoke to his dad who told me how much he loved NCC and would have wanted to be a part of the reunion. I asked them if there was a picture that the could email me or make a copy so we could remember him during the reunion. They have offered to lend us their copy of a picture of Arthur and his children taken not long before he passed away. I am going to make arrangements with them before the reunion to pick it up and return it to them. I was never close to Arthur during school, but he was one of the few guys in class that I felt comfortable with asking to sign my yearbook. I will always remember is quiet ways.
