I graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1992. I started teaching kindergarten in Struthers that September and have been there for 16 years now. During that time, I went to graduate school at Westminster College and received my Masters in Education. Then I continued my education until I received my administrator's certificate to become an elementary principal. I've been really active in teaching parent involvement programs in the classroom through state conferences and YSU.
I married Mike in 1992 and we have three beautiful daughters. We are really active in their activities such as coaching soccer, basketball, and escorting them to tennis lessons, swim team lessons, dance etc....I still play on a ladies tennis team in the summer. One of my interests/hobbies is room design both classrooms and home design. I also put on many themed parties for my girls such as Valentine Tea Parties, Easter Egg Hunts, Fourth of July Parades in the neighborhood, Halloween parties, Christmas caroling parties, and three birthday parties each year. I'm thinking about starting a business based on children's theme parties in the near future.
My parents still live in Canfield as well as my sister, Megan, and her family. My sister, Cristin, lives in Kentucky with her family, and my brother, Tom, lives in Cleveland.
It's hard to believe there are several classmates that live in the area and I don't ever seem to run into them!
