Hudson Nahashon died around June 27, 2022. He had been in Kenya, where he spent part of each year, and returned to Las Cruces, NM where he lived the other part of the year. On returning to the U.S. this year, he did not feel well. He was diagnosed with abdominal cancer, which had spread, and passed away soon after. Blessed be his memory, our African brother.
 
 
Phyllis Locken Asleson died February 10, 1997 as a result of complications from the treatment of breast cancer. Phyllis was 50 years of age. She was surrounded by her dear family during her final hospitalization. She was buried June 7, 1997 in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen, Minnesota, her husband Bruce's hometown.
 
Kristin Luelin Ekern was born Apr. 16, 1946 in Honolulu, HI and died Apr. 22, 1991 in Eau Claire, WI. Her parents were Merlin  and Luella Tanner. According to an Ekern family tree she had one daughter.  At her death she lived at 618 Tainter St, Chetek, WI
 
Mark Mennis died in 2011. He seved in the U.S.Air Force and settled in the state of Missouri.
 
Gary Nelson died in May of 1999 from a brain tumor. He lived in Big Sur, California, one of the most beautiful spots on Earth.
 
Jonathan Pederson died June 27, 2014 after a two month struggle with pancreatic cancer. Originally planning to come to the reunion, he received a diagnosis on April 30 of the quick-acting cancer and less than two months later, passed away. Loving family members were with him as he passed. His funeral service is Tuesday, July 8th at 11:00am at Portland Avenue United Methodist Church, 8000 Portland Ave S, Bloomington, MN. A choir of Academy graduates will sing Beautiful Savior, as requested by Jon and his family. If you would like to participate in this choir, led by Mark Madson, please let Mark know and meet at the church in Bloomington at 9:00 AM
 
Dianne Wentworth Johnson died December 12, 2014, following hospice care in Luverne, Mn. She attended Augustana College following the Academy. Always active in musical experiences, she was a member of the Academy choir and the Augustana College  Symphony where she played oboe. Dianne lived with her husband, Curtis, in Jasper and was a member of the Jasper Evangelical Lutheran church. She is remembered fondly by her husband, mother, sister, brother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews.
