Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon, with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church Ministry Center of Canyon, 1620 4th Avenue. 
Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery. 

Scott was born on February 5, 1971 in Canyon, Texas. He graduated from Canyon High School and attended West Texas University before transferring to North Texas State University of Denton, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with emphasis on Environmental Science. He resided in Carrolton, Texas and worked in environmental assurance positions for several companies prior to returning to Canyon in February 2010. 
Scott is known for his warm and loving personality. In high school he preformed in "Ann of a Thousand Days," "Oklahoma," "Grease," "Once Upon a Mattress," and was also a member of the Canyon Band and Honor Society. He performed in two productions at Amarillo College, "Royal Hunt of the Sun" and "Biloxi Blues." His love of Roman History afforded him the opportunity of travel to Italy and parts of Europe, while visiting with Canyon friends who were working on their doctoral degrees. Scott also enjoyed collecting DC Comics and figurines. During his illness a constant flow of family, relatives and classmates gave support by showing their strong love. Scott loved being with his family and keeping in touch with his friends. During the past few months Scott enjoyed spending time with his family and bonding with his two nephews, Steven and Taylor. He shared "Bud Night" each Friday with Steven and his buddies. His warm personality and love of people will always be missed and remembered. 

Survivors include his parents, Johnny and Johnnie Raymond, one sister, Stephanie and son, Taylor of Pampa; an older brother John Raymond and wife Brenda, and son Steven of Canyon; and a daughter Katherine Wilde of Amarillo. Relatives: Dan Raymond and wife Ruthie, of Sunray; Ben Allison and wife Wilma, of Canyon; Jim Burkett and wife Shelia, of Canyon; Tom and Lynda Lindsey of Cibolo, Texas; and several cousins. 

The family expresses their gratitude to the physicians, nurses and staff at Baptist Saint Anthony's Critical Care Unit and BSA Hospice staff who, through their wonderful show of love and service, made his final days peaceful and calm. Also to the First Baptist Church of Canyon, Pastor Dr. Johnny Funderburg of Pampa, and to the many friends of the family. Your expressions of love and concern will always be remembered and remain blessings. To God be the Glory.
