My life in brief:

Okay here's my first stab at this.... luckily this site lets us update and rewrite stuff whenever we want to so here goes..... After graduation I went to Utah Valley Technical College in Drafting & Design. Had a lot of fun during those years, some of the best of my youth (short of high school of course). Classmate and buddy Kelly Wareham was an executive assistant to the engineering manager at Utah Power's Huntington plant. Kelly let me in on a drafter opening at the plant so just for the experience I went to the interview and they made an offer a broke college student couldn't refuse. After getting my new career off the ground I looked around a bit and noticed they had hired a lot of cute young men at that power plant. One coal yard forman in particular had the attention of most of the females on site. It took a bit of time but he finally got past the steno pool distractions and noticed that the drafter was also a girl. Anyway long story short my Mom just loved him and who can pass up a Mom approved hot guy! Married in March of 1982. Loving that double income no kids thing I didn't get any maternal instincts until age 25 or so then I became kind of baby obsessed.....the baby thing finally worked out in December of 1987 with the birth of my only child Katie. I decided if one is all I was going to have I really wanted to be a Mom fulltime and much to my husbands dismay left the career behind. I know it doesn't happen much and I do see this as a true blessing that I was able to have a front row seat for my daughters childhood and teen years. I'm sure you will all agree there is nothing in life better than the joy that comes from the relationship you develop with your children. While Katie was so quickly growing up and doing her own stuff I found myself with a bit of time on my hands, so I found a few part time jobs over the years that work well with being the Mom. I worked for the Carbon School District as a teachers aid, a mentor for detention students, and of course the ever so coveted substitute teacher position. I also had a really bad idea regarding community service and took a turn as Price City council, I learned there is a lot of good that happens in a community but it is rarely a result of the elected officials and their efforts. I'm still very involved in the community but back on the volunteer side. About the time Katie was graduating I started to see what my husband had been so upset about all those years ago when I left the career level pay check behind......College is expensive and Katie and I had been having a lot of fun that superseded the college fund. So I went back to school and brushed up on the drafting/design skills and set out looking for another career at age 45. Again so blessed, my old job at that very same Plant became available. Kelly had long since left Huntington Plant but my husband was right on it making sure the application was filled out and the resume was in....again I went to the interview just for the experience and again they made an offer a this time poor stay at home Mom couldn't refuse. I love being back on the job with my power plant friends (lots of them are classmates). Overall a lot of great things have happened to me over the past 30 years but probably the best was ultimately working out a 17 year maternity leave!!!

Who do you hope to reconnect with:

Everyone from class of '79!!!
