Carolyn Roper Olsen, age 50, died July 29, 1994 at Fillmore.

Born March 8, 1944 at Richfield to Melvin J and Margaret Ann Lovell Roper. Married Ross L. Olsen, November 21, 1970 in the Manti LDS Temple. Attended High School in Delta and Cedar City. Graduated from DHS, and SUU with Elementary certificate. Taught in Tooele, Shriners Hospital, and Fillmore. Nominated for Huntsman Excellence in Education Award in 1993. Had great love for family and students. Sang and played piano for school, church and community. Loved to travel. Active in LDS Church. ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) conquered her body but not her spirit.Survived by husband, Fillmore; sons and daughter: Ryan, Logan; Wayne, Craig and Wendy, all Fillmore; father, Oak City; brothers and sisters: Gary L., Cedar City; Alan M., Fillmore; Mrs. Howard (Afton) Dutson, Oak City; Mrs. Jay (Dorothy) Atkinson, Delta; Mrs. Gary (Suzanne) LeBaron, Layton; Mrs. Phil (Marjorie) Lovell, Leamington. Preceded in death by mother.

Funeral services Tuesday, August 2, 1994, 12:00 Noon, Fillmore Stake Center. Friends call at Nickle Mortuary 190 South Center, Delta, Monday 7-8:30 p.m. and at Stake Center Tuesday 9:30-11:45 a.m. Burial Oak City Cemetery.
