Went from CCHS to Morris Harvey (UC)

Worked at Bonanza Restaurant to pay for my college

Jr. year joined Morris Harvey Basketball Team, played some JV ball and sometimes got to dress for Varsity Games-Big Thrill For Me. Also ran Cross Country.

Senior Year received grant for Athletic Student Manager.


Graduated BA Sociology 1972 from Morris Harvey. Accounting and Business Law education at W V State University.

Married 1973. 9 year marriage ended in 1981- no children.

Following graduation from Morris Harvey I spent 3 years at the
American Red Cross as Director of Blood Donor Resources for
Tri-State. Great job-poor pay.

Health and Pension Administrator (Health and Retirement Funds) for three years- to 1978.

Joined McDonough Caperton Insurance Group in April 1978. There have been some mergers down through the years. Worked there for 35 years. Great job. Great company. Retired in 2013.

Returned to school at WV State University in 1978 to complete Accounting Requirement to sit for CPA exam.

Passed the CPA Exam in November 1984.

Following CPA goal I began self study for the Certified Employee Benefits
Specialist (CEBS) designation. I complete the 10 required Exams in April 1990.

Remarried in 1991. Have step son, daughter in law and two adorable Grandchildren.

The guys thought it was funny to trip their buddies as they walked up the steps at school. After a victim was tripped the line was, “have a nice trip”? After about the tenth time this happen to me, I decided that was enough. I went into a profane rage. You son-of a $*#*@#)%#, I yelled! When I turned around to see who tripped me it was Sister Loretta. I apologized to her from Sophomore year to Senior year.
