I remember....

Sitting in Aaron Stime's truck after school on a hot September afternoon having a "what if" conversation. The party at Jen's house on my birthday, I still can't believe my mom let me go on a school night. Watching a bunch of drunk friends dance to the Duke of Earl in my living room. Who was the moron who left the bottles in the bushes in front of my house? Like my parents wouldn't find them there?

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

I want to see my boys grow up.

This is silly and shallow, but I would really like to have a summer house in my old Spokane, Cannon Hill, neighborhood. Getting away from the Texas summer heat would be nice.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Most of my time is spent with my hubby and our boys. Most weekends we spend in a little fishing town on the Gulf of Mexico, fishing, shellin, hanging out at the beach or just swinging on the porch swing with a cold beer or tea and listening to tunes blaring from the deck speakers. I am a simple girl with a simple life and I really like it that way.

What's the farthest you've been from home?

Cabo

How old do you feel?

Mentally, I will always be 29, Physically, somewhere between 40 and 80, depending on the day.

Any gray hair yet?

yep, and they are stuborn lil buggers.

What is your Favorite 80s song?

Sweet child of mine

Who was your favorite teacher and why?

Hands down, Mr Riggs. He inspired me to be informed and instilled in me a love for the political process. I always wanted to prove him wrong but failed misserably, I believe I could do it now, maybe. He is the first liberal that I truely loved and admired, he gave me an appreciation for people with different core beliefs and the ability to embrace those that think differently. It comes in handy, a lot of my best friends are liberals and I sincerely love them dearly!

Best thing you've done so far...

Sold my house, packed my bags, left everything I knew and held dear and moved to Texas.

What are you most proud of?

My oldest son. He is amazing, he has overcome so many obstacles and I feel so privledged to be part of his success. I must be doing something right because he is 15 and he is still sweet and loving to his Mom.

Who would have thought.....

I would be living in Texas and loving it. "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as quick as I could."

What did you love or hate the most about High School?

I hated being in a crowded room and feeling so alone. I still don't understand why some people were so mean.
