Survived By: Wife, Donna Ludwig Karlen Two sons, Carl and Craig, One daughter, Jennifer, and Five grandchildren, Izabella, Oscar, Lily, Milo and Silas
He is missed without description. He never met Silas but loved all his family. He was a skilled snow skier and loved to travel and rough it camping. We visited numerous National Parks, mostly out West. He could fix everything and created many rustic structures and artwork. He worked hard at Union Carbide-Eveready Battery, and we were transferred to St. Louis. The world has lost a principled, honorable, Real man.
