Business & Finance Coordinator @ Wauconda Area Library
Finished a degree in business & management at NEIU, then became a CPA. Worked in corporate accounting in the banking and leasing industry for 20+ years. Married twice, a son with my first husband and a daughter with my current husband.
Retired from corporate accounting when I married Rich, a farmer, and became pregnant with daughter at age 40. Spent 8 years as a volunteer in various organizations including local Friends of the Library, church activities including choir, and school's weekly bingo program. I was a Girl Scout leader for 5 years and a Master Gardener at the local U of I extension office for 10 years.
I went back to work part-time in 2011 as a local church parish's business manager, then in 2013 as an associate accountant at a local CPA firm. Retired from CPA practice in August 2015.
As of Sept 2017, I am now working my dream job as Business & Finance Coordinator at the Wauconda Area Library.
I continue to write and finished a novel during the 2013 NaNoWriMo which I am in the process of editing and rewriting.
Favorite Lane Memory:
Wood shop with Mr Miller. Got an A in the class and I still have the cutting board, bowl, & Indian plaque made in that class. Journalism class with Mr. Rogers and being an editor on the newspaper. The football games-- my love of football began with those games. Hanging out at Jack in the Box after school. Sharing my lunch especially the raw carrots with our lunch table members.
I still write especially journaling and currently working on fiction. I am also an avid reader. I love hiking, gardening, photography, sewing, and knitting. I never get tired of learning new things and continuously take advantage of non-credit classes via local community college, webinars, and library.

"Wherever you go, whatever you do, remember the honor of Lane." I took this very seriously while at Lane and after.
