BRANNAN

EDWARD J. (SKIP) BRANNAN, 64, of Youngstown, died April 13, 2015 at Hospice House in Youngstown, OH. The son of the late Edward and Virginia Dannes Brannan, he was born on January 20, 1951 in Cleveland. He grew up on Edgehill Rd. in Cleveland Heights, graduated from Cleveland Heights High School, and has served on his class reunion committee. He retired from the General Motors Fisher Body plant in Lordstown, OH. Although he moved to Mahoning Co. in the 1970's, Ed remained devoted to Cleveland and its sports teams. Ed graduated from Youngstown State University and was an active volunteer with its Alumni Society. He was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and served on the State Ancient Order of Hibernians Board of Directors as Catholic Action Chairman. A trainer and consultant for Homeland Security. Belonged to a Disaster Medical Assistance Team. An admitted sports junkie, played Over-Thirty baseball, attended countless sporting events, collected old Cleveland sports teams memorabilia and was appointed to the Alumni Board at Youngstown State. He is survived by two daughters, Erin (Ryan) Acklin and Caitlin Brannan and three grandchildren, Teagan, Audrey and Preston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, OH.
