Loved Palisades, Marianne Davino, Joyce Jeffries, Cheri Schumann, we all went to that pool alot, best way to cool off, espcially with the cold showers they had there LOL..My friend John ran the bumper cars, went on them tons of time..would stay out late...lived four blocks from it and listen to the noise at night...wonderful time of our lives, and all we wanted to do was grow up....well got older, but didn't grow up...love the fried with vinegar, and the ice cream waffle sandwiches...boy, it was the little things back then...

Man oh man, do we all have such incredible memories of the magic that was Palisades Amusement Park?!?  How lucky were we all to have such a place in our lives???  I remember never having to shell out no more than a couple of bucks for those incredible fries and the sherbet cones, but never ever having to pay for the rides... the Cyclone was the best whether it was actually riding it, going down that first hill NO HANDS, or falling asleep to the screams of the other riders!  Or standing on the stage with Cousin Brucie (who is still alive at 92 years young) or dancing to the Surfriders at the Battle of the Bands!  What a wonderful time...

I also remember sneaking into the Park during the winter and ice skating inside the boat house...

What was great too, is you always felt safe there too..always had friends around each corner, people we knew, or my brothers or Mom knew...(of course that wasn't always good) lol....Miss those days, the ironic part is, when they pulled the park down and built the Winston Towers, my father in law at the time, was the manager of that property...told him, rather have the park.

Your right Ro, one time I was having a problem with a bunch of spanish guys and the life guard Sandy took me out the back way and took me home so I would be safe.  Great bunch of people there everyone knew everyone even the matrons in the locker room.

When I joined a fraternity at Rutgers and the brotherhood found out I was from Palisades Park, I was constantly being asked to take a group of the guys to the Park. I eventually gave in and brought a number of them just before the Park closed. We had a blast, real 1960s type fun, junk food, the rides, etc.  all bolstered by the brews we consumed on the way up from New Brunswick. Those were different times. Can't wait to see everyone/anyone at the reunion.  Get the word out!

hey guys, I was slinging burgers and dunking fries at the sun deck food stand, while you were sunning and funning. Have you checked out Vince Gargulio's  Palisades Amusement Park website You can also access it through facebook . It's everything you wanted to know about PAP.  Did you know about the underwater passage to the wave machine behind the falls
